Thanks for showing up and other such things

Hi everyone. Thanks for checking out the podcast. Adam and I have a lot of enthusiasm for it Adam we're looking forward to keeping up our once a month schedule.

I'm going to use the site to mention things every now and again that I like or things that in this case, astonish me that I'm looking forward to.

In this case The Wrestler starring Mickey Rourke.

Yes, I am excited for a Mickey Rourke movie.

Had someone come to me even a year before Sin City had come in to being and told me I would one day be excited for a Mickey Rourke film, I may have given you a look that would make you think you crapped yourself and had began smearing it on the walls.

Now comes along this movie called The Wrestler and it looks good as the trailer will attest but it's weird for me. It has so many things in it that just scream this is going to be horrible but yet it looks like it's going to be really good and all the critics seem to love it.

Item 1) Mickey Rourke a man with phenomenal acting talents but self destructed his career and did a lot of bad movies.

Item 2) Marisa Tomei. Still gorgeous to look and although she plays a stripper in this, name a movie you liked of hers besides My Cousin Vinnie? Don't worry, I'll wait. That's right, other then a small part in Four Rooms, there isn't much good is there. Oh and Rescue Me the tv show but she wasn't a part of it's success.

Item 3) It's a movie about wrestling. While I love Ready to Rumble as much as the next guy, I know it's a horrible movie. Incidentally it also lead to one of the worst moments in pro wrestling history when David Arrquette became heavy weight champ of wcw.

But the one thing this movie does have going for it is Darren Aronofsky. The man has yet to make a bad movie.
